prabhu kahe,—doṣa nāhi, ihā āmi jāni
rāsa nā pāila lakṣmī, śāstre ihā śuni


SYNONYMS

prabhu kahe — the Lord replied; doṣa nāhi — there is no fault; ihā āmi jāni — this I know; rāsa pāila lakṣmī — Lakṣmī, the goddess of fortune, could not join the rāsa dance; śāstre ihā śuni — we get this information from revealed scriptures.


TRANSLATION

Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu replied, “I know that there is no fault on the part of the goddess of fortune, but still she could not enter into the rāsa dance. We hear this from the revealed scriptures.
