tabe cāri-jana bahu minati karila
svatantra īśvara prabhu kabhu nā mānila


SYNONYMS

tabe — thereafter; cāri-jana — four men; bahu — many; minati — petitions; karila — submitted; svatantra — independent; īśvara — the Supreme Personality of Godhead; prabhu — Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu; kabhu — at any time; — not; mānila — accepted.


TRANSLATION

Four devotees then humbly insisted that they go with the Lord, but Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, being the independent Supreme Personality of Godhead, did not accept their request.
