770206 - Letter to Giriraja from Satsvarupa
Calcutta,
February 6, 1977
From: Satsvarupa
Bombay
Dear Giriraja,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I have conveyed to His Divine Grace the contents of your letter of February 3rd, regarding expanding the preaching in Bombay with the addition of Sridhar Maharaj, Madhavananda as well as Haridas and Citrakara, and your plan to purchase two Ambassador cars for this purpose.
Madhavananda was here and Srila Prabhupada has encouraged his going to join you there. Srila Prabhupada was stressing to Madhavananda that our most important program is distributing books, and that whatever success we are enjoying now it is due to the book distribution.
His Divine Grace also approves of your plan to purchase the cars from your collections there. He had me inquire from Gargamuni Maharaj as to whether it was more feasible to purchase the cars outright than to buy them through financing as you are doing. Gargamuni Maharaj said you would save about one thousand rupees by buying outright. He also said you would save two to three thousand rupees by purchasing the cars in Calcutta. I am sure you have considered some of these things already. Srila Prabhupada said he is willing to sign the form you sent if after all your deliberation you decide that financing the cars in Bombay is best. So I am enclosing the forms. Consider what is the most efficient way to obtain the cars and do the needful. You can communicate further with Gargamuni Maharaj, and even send him money to make a purchase if you think it is best to do it in that way.
Hoping this finds you in best of health,
Your servant,
Satsvarupa das Goswami
Secretary to His Divine Grace
