My dear Radha Ballabha Prabhu,

Please accept my obeisances. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 7th April, 1977. I have explained to Srila Prabhupada the point in your letter about how previously His Divine Grace had urged that everything be done at a high speed in order to print so many books and therefore many devotees have been taken on by the press. Srila Prabhupada then said: “Now make low speed—but save money!” Earlier today Srila Prabhupada was speaking with Svarupa Damodar and Prabhupada explained that whatever money was saved from press expenses by these reductions of costs could be kept in a bank account and saved for the scientists preaching, so that even if the scientists do not use all the money one month the money they need will be accumulating from whatever money has been saved.

In the BBT board meeting minutes dated April 10th, 1977 there is discussion on some proposal to move ISKCON Press to Bombay. Do not worry! There is no basis for any such proposal. Bombay will take 300 years to come to the US standard!

Regarding Satsvarupa Maharaja’s proposal to enlarge the size of Back to Godhead, this suggestion was read to Srila Prabhupada. His Divine Grace’s only point is that he has no objection if the paper throughout the magazine is of a slightly less quality to offset the cost of increasing the size of the magazine. Already we are using a lesser quality paper in Bhagavatam inserts. The main thing Srila Prabhupada wants to see is that the reading matter is there, that is important. Another point Srila Prabhupada made was that the size of the Back to Godhead should remain steady. If it is increased then it must remain that size. Not that we suddenly increase it and then decrease it again. Nothing should be published which has no foundation. Everything should be authorized and backed by sastric reference. We should not be so bold that we speak nonsense by deviating from the philosophy.

Srila Prabhupada says that the first part of Dialectical Spiritualism can be printed immediately if it is ready. His Divine Grace is very eager for this publication. Hoping this meets you in the best of health.
