My dear Vasudeva Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I have been instructed by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada to thank you for your letter dated 21st October, 1977.

Srila Prabhupada is always so much pleased to hear from you the good news of ISKCON developments in Fiji. Although He is passing through a critical stage, I took the opportunity to read your Letter to: Him. Immediately He felt better hearing your report. Srila Prabhupada was very pleased to know that the Deity worship is going nicely. He said, “That is wanted. Do it–husband and wife together.” When you described that over 100 people are daily coming to sandya aroti and some days more, Srila Prabhupada very much appreciated this. His pleasure was even further increased hearing that up to 600 people are attending the Sunday feast and for two month the contributions are pledged in advance for funding the feast program. Srila Prabhupada approves of your plan for building a big hall to be used for Guru-kula and prasadam distribution on the newly purchased adjacent land. Regarding your request for japamalas, Sri Yasodanandan Swami is now presently in Japan preaching. However I have spoken with his assistant, Smarahari das Brahmacari, and he has agreed to send you the requested malas. For further correspondence, you may write to Smarahari care of the Vrndavana temple. I am also immediately writing a Letter to: Ramesvara Maharaja regarding the fact that you have not received the books which you have ordered.

In regard to the idea for manufacturing incense, Srila Prabhupada also said this was very good. His Divine Grace said, “We can make very good agarbathi. Some experts from our Los Angeles Spiritual Sky may come to help set up everything.”

We regret to tell you that the Bombay Temple opening has been postponed until January 1st, 1978 due to the serious illness of Srila Prabhupada. So perhaps you will still be able to attend?

When you mentioned that the Fiji Government is also being helpful, Srila Prabhupada said, “Oh! Everything is successful! I want that the whole of Fiji become Krishna conscious. Even the local natives can be. They are good men. Simply they require the training of advanced devotees. I have all faith upon you, that Krishna will bless you with good intelligence and long life so that you can see that everyone in your country becomes Krishna-Kaliya’s devotee.”
